Blackboard is an online Learning Management System (LMS). Currently, Blackboard is the world's largest "e-learning" system provider, and their platforms are used in the most prestigious universities. Nearly a decade ago, ULACIT acquired Blackboard, and set its mind to achieving a virtual support classroom for all its courses.
Anticipating the large impact that e-learning would have not only on higher education, but also in continuing education and corporate training, ULACIT integrated virtual education as a pillar of its pedagogical strategy. "E-learning" promotes self-learning skills that prepare students for the labor market and are useful to continue their training process throughout their entire life.
With Blackboard, students participate in discussions with their professor and classmates, access materials such as books, scientific articles, presentations and links to sites that support their learning, they view their grades, and they develop their personal web page, send homework and work collaboratively with other students. Over time, Blackboard has become one of the most valued services by students and teachers at ULACIT, and a core section of our educational model.
